We have a natural tendency to surround ourselves with like-minded people. Sounds obvious, right? And it makes sense. However, I have a challenge for you.
I often emphasize the importance of having a personal board of advisors to support your professional and personal growth. This group typically consists of your closest confidants, most of whom likely share similar perspectives on life and work. But here’s my challenge to you: diversify your advisory board. Growth and evolution don’t happen by surrounding yourself with “yes” people who simply agree with you or reinforce what you already know. Expand your circle to include those who challenge your thinking and bring fresh insights to the table.
If you want to evolve and be better at work, home, and life overall, you need to be challenged. Surround yourself with people who support you and those who will constructively challenge you. Challenge your way of thinking and how you approach your job or run your business, and push yourself to improve.
